Foreclosure Friday Flash May 28 2010

I’ve got some BIG NEWS and I promise to fill you in on my move on Sunday, when I send out Bank Owned Weekly. I think you’ll like the news!

Of course, we had a quick winner in our Name the Hollywood Guest Contest last week. Congrats to Thelma Lewis for knowing our guest was Jimmy Stewart as Charles Lindberg in The Spirit of St. Louis. A little harder pick this week, but you should recognize the voice if you have watched any t.v. in the last 20 years.

Foreclosure Friday Flash May 21 2010

Off We Go into the Wild Blue Yonder!!! Well, I am flying high with my pick this week. And while we have an aeronautical contest this week, we have a pick with a very nautical street name. Go figure!

No winner last week in our Name the Hollywood Guest Contest. We had one answer that had the movie, Jeremiah Johnson, but no one knew it was Stefan Gierasch as Del Gue. This week’s contest should present no problem with this actor’s distinctive voice.

Hey, and just as Hollywood survives with FANS, so do I! I need more Fans for Foreclosure Friday Flash on Facebook. So if you’re on FB, hit the “like” button.

Foreclosure Friday Flash May 14 2010

Think about this! 206 years ago today, Lewis and Clark set off from St. Louis on their great expedition. You know I spend every week exploring, too, as I seek out the best buys for you. My pick this week is one that I first saw over 120 days ago and dismissed it as being way overpriced, but as you’ll hear me say often “what you won’t consider today, you’ll consider tomorrow”. When the price gets right, EVERYTHING sells.

Only one correct answer last week and we had a repeat winner. Way to go, Joan Talley. This week’s contest is a tough one. I might up the ante for a correct answer on this one. Remember to win the Starbucks card, I need the actor, the role and the movie.

Hey, and I need more Fans for Foreclosure Friday Flash on Facebook. So if you’re on FB, hit the “like” button in THIS LINK!

Foreclosure Friday Flash May 10 2010

I’ve got an out of this world pick this week in honor of the 49th Anniversary of America’s 1st manned space flight. It’s hard for me to believe that it was almost 50 years ago that the Space Race began. My wife kids me as being a nut about 3 things – the Space Race, the Kennedy Assassination, and the Mafia. Don’t ask me why the Mafia is included, it’s not like the other 2 which are memories forever etched in my mine. Maybe I was part of the Black Hand in another life!

Again, numerous correct answers on last week’s Hollywood Contest, but the “early bird” was Joan Talley. This week’s contest shouldn’t present much of a problem, since I’ve given you numerous hints. Remember to win the Starbucks card,  I need the actor, the role and the movie.

If you’re interested in receiving Bank Owned Weekly, then click on the appropriate link – West End, Glen Allen, or Midlothian. When you sign up for Bank Owned Weekly, you will also receive Foreclosure Friday Flash delivered to your inbox every Friday.

Have a great weekend! And call me 804.301.7598, if you want to see anything.

It’s Time for Another National Goal

freedom 7

Yesterday marked the 49th anniversary of America’s first manned space voyage.  From this humble start where Alan Sheppard took a 15 minute sub orbital ride, America in a little over 8 years was able to land a man on the moon. Think what this country could accomplish if another national goal was established. Maybe we could release that great engine of creativity that is America and begin to manufacture things again. Of course that might mean unions have to take a backseat. Maybe we could actual work to reduce our national debt and deficits. Of course that would mean Americans would have to scrap their entitlement mindset. Or maybe we just need to revamp our government so that it assists instead of hinders the exceptionalism that is America.
